CORONAVIRUS UPDATES

THE TENNIS COURT IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

THE PLAYGROUND IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

THE CHURCH IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

THE VILLAGE HALL IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

You can use the playing field for the daily exercise the government has said you are allowed to take in this strange time of lockdown - but please stay at least 2 metres away from people who are not members of your household. Children should not play with other children who are not members of their household.

SHOPPING FOR FOOD

Several kind residents have offered to get food and collect a prescription for those unable to get out at this difficult time. Please e mail info@melburyosmond.co.uk or phone the clerk or one of the councillors (phone numbers here) and you will be put in touch with someone who can help. This link will also give you options for ordering food from local suppliers (subject to lockdown restrictions that may alter the supplier's capability to deliver)

Advice from the police about Scams - at a time like this there are always unscrupulous people waiting to take advantage of the elderly and vulnerable  - please go to the neighbourhood watch page for more information.

Remember your bank will never phone and ask for bank details NEVER EVER give any personal account details or other information to anyone that you don't know who contacts you by phone.  Put the phone down. They may say they are trying to help you safeguard your money by transferring it to a safe account or something similar but it will be a trick. Sometimes they even say goodbye so you can phone your bank directly but they are actually still on the line and you think you are talking to someone new as they put on a different voice. Put the phone down and wait a few minutes till you have a dialling tone then phone your bank - the number will be on your bank card or bank statement - ask them if they have been in touch and tell them about the call.
