The Council

Melbury Osmond Parish Council meets bi-monthly, usually on the second Monday of the month in the Reading Room at 7.30pm, but if more space is needed in the Village Hall. The meeting dates and times will be published on this website and on The Reading Room notice board.

If you would like advance notice of dates please contact the clerk Jodie Carter   at e-mail address

Meetings are open to all with the opportunity for residents to raise issues and questions to the parish council during the 'open meeting'.

The council currently has four members so there are vacancies. If you are interested in becoming a parish councillor please contact the clerk.

The council is in frequent contact with our two local authorities - WDDC for planning applications, refuse collection and other matters; DCC for highways and transport. The Parish Council is paid for by the precept which forms part of the council tax.

The council oversees the maintenance of the village playground and supports the Village Hall.

The clerk Jodie Carter can be contacted between meetings if there is an issue any parishioner would like to bring to the council’s attention.
